How to be a Demon
We may have missed Halloween, but that doesn't mean the demons have all vanished from this world. In this fursuit performance panel, we will focus on performance in realistic costumes, particularly around aggressive or evil characters. The panel will be interactive, so interested attendees are encouraged to attend in costume, particularly realistic or aggressive characters. Topics covered will include both physical posturing and vocalization, as well as issues around safety and legal concerns when acting in an aggressive manner. Aeto has been an active costumer for nearly fifteen years, both building and performing in realistic-styled fursuits, and has been performing as aggressive, demonic characters for around half that time. During this period, he has volunteered at haunted attractions in California, Illinois, and most recently Washington State, performing in these characters.

Step One: Fursuit Concept and Design
Time to build a fursuit! But wait, don't grab the foam and glue just yet. This panel will discuss the real first steps in fursuit construction - references and concept art. Even for toony fursuits or made-up hybrids, anatomy references and accurate concept art are your roadmap to creating a memorable and effective critter. Let's talk about where to get them, how to create them, and how to use them along the way. I'll also go over techniques I use to design body padding, create good proportion, fix symmetry issues, and stay "on model" throughout the process. We'll also discuss a little fursuit design, and how what works for 2D art doesn't also translate to big furry costumes. Suitable for fursuit builders of all levels, but especially beginners!
